3 journal promps for your weekly reset
Some weeks feel smooth. Other weeks feel like you blinked and it is already Sunday night.
Either way, a quick weekly reset routine can help you go into the new week with a clear head. Here are 3 journal prompts to help you move in the direction you want this week.
1. What worked this week?
Start here because it builds confidence. Even if your week was chaotic, something worked and you should celebrate it!
Ask yourself things like:
When did I feel most calm
What helped me show up
What did I do that made life easier
What habits actually stuck
Maybe you went to bed earlier.
Maybe you studied before scrolling.
Maybe you ate lunch every day.
Maybe you asked for help instead of stressing alone.
Big or small, write it down.
Then take it one step deeper. Why did it work? Was it the time of day? Was it the people around you? Was it because you kept it simple? When you know the why, you can repeat it.
2. What did not work this week?
Look at what drained you or made things harder. Be honest, but be kind to yourself.
Ask:
What stressed me out the most
What did I avoid
What plans did I keep skipping
What habits made me feel worse
Maybe you packed your schedule too tight. Maybe you waited until the last minute. Maybe you said yes to too much. Maybe your sleep was a mess. Write it down like you are solving a problem, not blaming yourself.
Then ask, what was the trigger? Was it boredom, pressure, lack of sleep, or no plan at all? Knowing the trigger helps you change the pattern.
3. What do I want to change this week?
Now we turn the page. Pick one or two things to focus on changing.
Keep it simple and specific:
I want to study for 30 minutes right after school
I want to put my phone away at 10 pm
I want to plan my meals for two days at a time
I want to leave one free block in my schedule
Then write one tiny step you can do tomorrow.
Tiny steps are more manageable and don’t feel overwhelming.
Time to journal!
